Week 7 - August 1 (Email to mom)

I am doing so great!!! There is so much I want to tell you. I am here in Louisville, about 10 minutes from the airport. I'm not very sick anymore-just a slight stuffy nose, so that's good. Hermana Starling is my companion. She is from West  Jordan, and has 7 younger siblings. She is super awesome and dedicated and obedient. She is also willing to help me learn which is awesome. All that you told me sounds awesome. I don't have a super lot of time today to respond to each thing because we waited too long to start emailing, but it all sounds amazing. We live in the top floor of an apartment building. There is a spiral staircase and a deck that seems as if it might collapse at any minute. We have scary neighbors downstairs that smoke weed and fight with each other a lot. I haven't heard too much this week but Hermana says it gets bad sometimes, so we try to avoid them at all cost.

Our address is 7209 Yorktown Road, #4 Louisville KY 40214. Send lots of letters porfavor :) Um this week was actually really amazing for our area. We had a bunch of visits with less actives, a few actual lessons with less actives, we went and ate at a family in our ward's house twice-the Roys. they have 2 kids and are super big into missionary work, so that's awesome. Then we taught a couple of investigators. We also talked to a lot of random people in the street. i think our TWE's ended up being 128 people for this week. So hopefully at least one of them will go on mormon.org or go to church or remember something we said. 

It's really hard for me to stay awake during personal study because it's at 8 am and it's quiet and our apartment has horrible lighting. So I am working on that. We have ipads, a phone, and a car. Our area is really big so we don't have to bike at the moment. Part of our area is in a place where usually only Elders get to be assigned, but since we are Hermanas and lots of Hispanic people live in those areas, we get to. So it's a bit sketchy at times, but super fun. The Lord blesses us with safety. We  got to see a drug deal also- there were about 9 cop cars that showed up in a parking lot and they were searching through a car. It was pretty exciting. We just drove past. We are allowed to read emails every day but only respond on pdays. We are also only allowed to write letters on pdays. but if you want to send me stuff during the week, I will most likely be able to read it. 

My spanish is coming. It's really hard to understand some people, but I am doing pretty well and trying to improve. All of the people we talk to in spanish are just super impressed that we know any and that we are learning and so they are willing to help out a lot. Also they are generally super nice, polite people even if they aren't interested. so ya. Questions?
